In early January this year I was commissioned by Australian Golf Digest magazine to take some aerial images of the Sydney coastline from La Perouse and up through Sydney Harbour.
The emphasis was on the absolute clifftop frontage golf courses that exist in this part of Sydney. Courses such as NSW Golf Club (what a great course), St.Michaels, The Coast, Randwick and more have an enviable ocean frontage.

I have been up in a helicopter a few times now to take images of different courses (in New Zealand, Queensland, Melbourne) but this flight had something special about it. Probably because the morning was magic (nice rich sunrise, a bit hazy) and the fact we flew straight over the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (shown above) as part of the experience!
On the way back we flew over Royal Sydney Golf Club - host of the 2008 Australian Open and a golf course recently redesigned by Ross Watson. Looks great from the air and positioned in the middle of Australia's most expensive piece of real estate - Rose Bay.

In the end I managed to capture some nice images of the golf courses in question which were published in Australian Golf Digest in March 2009. Just another days work!
